Burlington Water Resources Capital Planning:
A work session will outline proposed bond requests for March 2025. This discussion will shape future investments in water infrastructure, essential for sustainability and public health.
Mayor's Update on City Affairs:
Mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak will deliver a 10-minute update covering key citywide matters, including climate initiatives and public safety developments.
Here's the Deliberative Agenda Highlights:
-> Resolution Declaring November as Family Caregiver Month:
This resolution recognizes the vital contributions of family caregivers and advocates for community gratitude and supportive solutions.
-> Ordinances Addressing Livable Wages:
There are proposed amendments aim to enhance enforcement mechanisms for the Livable Wage Ordinance. Updates include in-house compliance monitoring and alignment with federal standards for specific projects.
-> Homelessness Initiatives Update:
Sarah Russell, Special Assistant to End Homelessness, will share updates on city efforts to support unsheltered residents, including portable resource distribution and plans to expand low-barrier shelter capacity.
-> First Reading of the Vacant Buildings Ordinance:
This ordinance aims to improve the management of vacant properties, enforce penalties, and establish conditions for fee waivers for properties under active rehabilitation.
-> Second Reading of the Graffiti Ordinance:
The proposed ordinance seeks to strengthen measures against property defacement and includes a private right of action for individuals targeted by graffiti related to protected classifications.
